Work Visit (Kunker) of Commission V of the Republic of Indonesia House of Representatives to Gresik Regency, East Java (1/4), attended by 10 members of Commission V, Head of Development and Testing of the VIII National Road Implementation Center, Yuliansyah, Head of East Java Settlement Infrastructure, Dardjat Widjunarso, and Head of the KLBM Toll Road Project of PT Waskita (Tbk), Paulus Nur Harmoko. This time Kunker visited the Krian-Legundia-Bunder-Manyar Toll Road (KLBM) and Simabayat Baru II Bridge.

KLBM Toll Road is one of the National Strategic Projects. The 38.29-kilometer toll road is divided into 4 sections, section 1 will be completed in September 2019, sections 2 and 3 will be completed in August 2019, and section 4 will be completed in 2020.

Paulus said, the KLBM toll road progress had reached 70% with the biggest obstacle being land acquisition, but all had been resolved properly.

Commission V DPR RI appreciates the construction of the KLBM Toll in East Java Province. Because the support in carrying out development is entirely from within the country, ranging from funding, construction, workers, and raw materials. The toll road project is a consignment of PT. Waskita Bumi Wira towards the government for 45 years. It is hoped that the KLBM toll road construction can be an example for toll road development in other regions.

"There are no foreign banks and foreign countries that enter here. The funding is from PT. Waskita Bumi Wira, which carried out a consortium of 42 domestic banks worth Rp 12 trillion. I appreciate this very much for not using the state budget. We buy our own raw materials from domestic products. Hopefully this can be an example in other areas, "said Anton Sukartono.

On the same occasion, the Commission V Team and the group visited the Simbayat Baru II Bridge. The Simbayat Bridge is officially open to the public, but only symbolically.

While the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) of the Surabaya-Gresik-Sadang BBPJN VIII East Java Road Section Merlan Effendi explained the reason for not opening the bridge, even though the construction has been completed. According to him, the Sembayat II bridge project still requires a number of SOPs that must be passed, so it requires time.

He stated, there were stages that had to be passed before the Sembayat Bridge was inaugurated even though the building had been physically completed. "At present it is still in the plenary process of the Road and Bridge Safety Commission," he said.

He said he did not question the opening of the Sembayat Bridge to the public because this bridge was indeed worth passing.
