Jakarta - The Indonesian House of Representatives Commission V held a Working Meeting related to the preparation of the provision of transportation facilities and infrastructure in order to handle the flow of Lebaran 2019 homecoming in the House of Representatives Commission V meeting room on Tuesday (21/5). The work meeting was chaired directly by the Chairperson of the House of Representatives Commission V Fary Djemy Francis. When opening the meeting, Fary said that the moment of Eid was getting closer. Due to the high price of airplane tickets, people switch to using land transportation, either private vehicles or public transportation. This is added because the toll road has been built from Banten to Probolinggo.

In his presentation, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono stated that in general the readiness of the homecoming route in 2019 is better than the previous year. Beside toll roads, overall national road stability in Java and Sumatra has also been above 90%.

"For Java, all toll roads and national roads are ready to be managed by the National Police Corruption Traffic Agency. For the national road from Cikampek to Semarang, we think the conditions are better than last year. In North Java, this is a national road. along 1,341km in 97% stable condition, while Lintas Tengah Java along 1,197km is 93% stable, while Southern Cross along 888km is 98% and South Java Beach is connected 1,267 km from a total of 1,647km with 83% steady condition, " said Minister Basuki in the Working Meeting (Raker).

Minister Basuki added, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing had also inaugurated the 170-meter Colonel Sunandar bridge that connects Kudus-Demak which is in vital access to the North Coast road (Pantura) in Central Java. "The bridge is very helpful for the community because it can be used in two directions. In addition, two bridges in Temanggung (Galeh Progo Bridge) are also ready to be opened to the public, "said Minister Basuki.

A number of road repairs with concrete pavement (rigid pavement) on the island of Java, also said Minister Basuki has been completed and ready to be opened to be passed during the homecoming later. "For rigid pavement in the Kebumen area, it will open tomorrow because it is waiting for the concrete age on May 22, 2019, as well as in the Prupuk area. So we can be sure that all repairs will be stopped on the 10th day of Eid, "he said.

For the Trans Java Toll Road, Minister Basuki said that it was ready to be used for Lebaran 2019 mudik along 1,000.7 km, with sections that were operational for 996 km and the remaining functional along 4.7 km on the Pandaan - Malang toll road section 4 Singosari - Pakis . "Including the operational ones, namely Pandaan-Malang Toll Road section 1-3 along 31 km, which was just inaugurated two weeks ago by President Jokowi," said Minister Basuki.

While for Sumatra Island, Minister Basuki stated that the total length of toll roads that are ready to be used for mudik along 503 km with sections that are already operational as long as 281 km and the rest are functional along 222 km. The operational segments are Bakauheni - Terbanggi Besar 140.4 km, Palembang - Indralaya 21.9 km, Medan - Binjai 13.2 km, Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Height 62.2 km and Belawan - Medan - Tanjung Morawa 42, 7 km. While for those who are still functional are Terbanggi Besar - Pematang Panggang - Kayu Agung, 189 km long and Kayu Agung - Palembang, 33 km long. The utilization of the Trans Sumatra functional toll road will fully be under the control of the National Police Corps.

On the Trans Sumatra Toll Road there are 18 rest areas in the operational section, while the TIS is prepared for functional Toll Roads. "For the rest area service, the Ministry of PUPR places 40 toilet cars and 40 public hydrants in various toll road areas and mudik posts on the Pantura and Pansela roads in Java," said Minister Basuki.

While the national road in Sumatra, along 7,918 Km, is ready with details of Jalan Lintas Barat 2,563 km in 97% Steady condition, Jalan Timur Timur 3,017 km in 93% steady condition, and Jalan Lintas Tengah 2,338 km in 94% steady condition.
