In order to ensure the readiness of the national road and bridge infrastructure in facing the Lebaran mudik flow, the Directorate General (DG) of Bina Marga sent a number of teams to the field starting at the beginning of Ramadan.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Highways, Soebagiono led the field checks starting from Surabaya, East Java to Banyuwangi, which continued to the island of Bali on Monday-Tuesday (6-7 / 5). Based on monitoring, Soebagiono explained that the ranks in the field were still working to support the smooth flow of Lebaran.
"For the Surabaya-Probolinggo road, there are some things that we must fix, there are still a few holes that we must complete before the D-10 work is temporarily stopped," he said.
Attention was also paid to the construction of rigid roads on the Probolonggo-Situbondo road section. The Directorate General of Highways (Bina Marga) accelerated the construction of the rigid which was targeted to be completed before the Lebaran homecoming. Soebagiono said that his party would monitor the progress of the work day after day to complete it on target.
"We will also be leveling on both sides of the shoulders of the Probolinggo-Situbondo rigid work package so that it does not interfere with driver safety aspects, especially for motorcycle riders," he continued.
Secretary of the Directorate General of Highways said that the readiness of road and bridge infrastructure in dealing with mudik flows this year is much better, partly because the Trans Java toll road has operated entirely from Banten to Probolinggo, even motorists can continue using the toll road to Malang, East Java.
"(Infrastructure Readiness) Lebaran is better this year, toll roads are better prepared. The Jakarta-Surabaya toll road is already good which can break the homecoming flow, now we make sure that the non-toll road must also be good, "explained Soebagiono.
As for Bali, the road and bridge conditions are generally quite good. But indeed the work is repairing the bridge. The Directorate General of Highways will install signs so that road users are informed and driver safety aspects can be maintained.
On the same occasion, Soebagiono also conveyed information regarding the existence of Mudik Alert Command Posts by DGH. The post will be alerted from D-10 to D + 10 Eid. In each Command Post there will be a guard officer as well as material readiness and the availability of supporting heavy equipment needed at any time for emergency conditions such as landslides, potholes and others.
The post will also be established in the area of ??the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) 4.5 which covers Gresik-Lamongan-Tripe-Tuban in East Java. PPK 4.5 Center for Implementation of the National Road (BBPJN) VIII Surabaya, Novia Endhianata said, the Mudik Alert Posts in the region will be located at KM 66 in Sukodadi Village, Sukodadi District, Lamongan.
"Complete personnel, 24 hour standby with alternating systems, with materials and some equipment on standby. We also provide a map of the homecoming route, "said Endhi.
He mentioned, related to the readiness of roads and bridges for the mudik flow, he was responsible for the condition of the 89.15 Km national road from Gresik to the City of Tuban. In this region, this year there is road preservation work through the financing of State Sharia Securities (SBSN), which until now has progressed 28 percent.
"In the package, there are 8 km of rigid work, and the rest is routine and periodic maintenance work," he said.
To support the flow back and forth, it continues to close road pits, repair and trim the shoulders and drainage as well as the installation of road markings. Endhi urged the travelers to be careful and maintain the speed limit of their vehicles, especially there are several spilled market points and two railroad crossings on the roads.
