PUPR EXPO 4.0: Minister Basuki Encourages Young Generation of PUPR to Actively Develop Information Technology

Jakarta - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono invited all employees, especially the younger generation of the Ministry of PUPR, to contribute innovative ideas in the use of information technology to support infrastructure development. He revealed this when opening the PUPR 4.0 Expo in the Function Room, Main Building of the Ministry of PUPR, Jakarta, Monday (02/11/2019).
"This event is not just an Expo but also as a performance of each organizational unit, as well as an internal evaluation of how far the Ministry of PUPR utilizes information technology facilities that are growing rapidly outside. It is hoped that through this event, we can capture bright ideas from the young generation of PUPR to improve PUPR's credibility and performance, "said Minister Basuki.
Minister Basuki encouraged the young generation of PUPR to discuss information technology available at the Ministry of PUPR to be modified so that it would better answer current information needs. "For PUPR Ministry staff who have original and innovative ideas so that the application / information system displayed in the PUPR Expo is better, I will give prizes for being able to attend international seminars abroad. Thus from learning outcomes the prizes are also learned, "said Minister Basuki.
Minister Basuki said the industrial revolution 4.0 was marked by the development of the use of information and communication technology in order to achieve high efficiency and better product quality, and also added value to the implementation of infrastructure development. For this reason, Human Resources (HR) are needed that are increasingly reliable in developing the use of information technology.
In line with the development of Industry 4.0, the Ministry of PUPR began to make changes in its business processes through digitalization, connectivity & computer power, human-machine interface, intelligent analytics to be able to increase efficiency, increase production optimization, and improve production processes.
The PUPR 4.0 Expo event was held to publicize the products and innovations of the Ministry of PUPR in the industrial era 4.0 which prioritized internet-based services, which included automation, internet of things, and cloud computing.
Head of the Public Communications Bureau Endra S. Atmawidjaja as the chief executive in his report said, every week PUPR Expo 4.0 will be filled by three organizational units that will set up an Expo booth and also fill alternately talkshow events. While every Friday a Press Conference will be held with speakers from officials related to each organizational unit.
The PUPR EXPO 4.0 schedule, the first week, 11-15 February 2019, featured material from the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Water Resources, BPIW and Balitbang. Then the second week, February 18-22, 2019, will be followed by the Directorate General of Highways, BPJT and Construction. The third week on 25 February-1 March 2019 was continued by the Directorate General of Human Settlements, BPPSPAM and BPSDM.
The fourth week on March 4-8 2019 will be filled with the Directorate General of Housing Provision, the Directorate General of Public Infrastructure and Housing Finance Financing, and PPDPP. Then in the fifth week, March 11-15 2019 will be closed by the Inspectorate General and the Secretariat General.
Some mini talkshows will be held on Tuesday (12/2) there will be 4 mini talkshows organized by the Balitbang namely about the Flood Early Warning System with speakers from the Center for Water Resources Research and INVI-J and Invi-Slope (Applications to Facilitate In Inspecting Bridges) with speakers from the Road and Bridge Research and Development Center.
Then proceed with material on the Green Building Building Rating System with speakers from the Research and Development Center for Housing and Settlements and Prospects and Challenges of Implementing BIM in Infrastructure Projects with resource persons from the Research and Development Center for Technology and Technology.
On the following day, Wednesday (2/13) a 2-session discussion forum was held. First, at 10.00-11.30 WIB the discussion with the theme of the Role of Young Generation and Campus in Regional Development and Infrastructure Development will feature two speakers, namely the Head of BPIW Hadi Sucahyono and Urban Development Observer Nirwono Yoga.
Then in session 2, at 13.30-15.00 WIB the discussion with the theme of Planning and Programming for Regional Development and Infrastructure Development of PUPR towards the Industrial 4.0 era featured a resource person for the Center for Programming and Evaluation of PUPR Cohesiveness Iwan Nurwanto and Wicaksono Sarosoa City Planning Figure.
Also attending the opening ceremony of PUPR EXPO 4.0 were Secretary General of the Ministry of PUPR Anita Firmanti, Inspector General Widiarto, Director General (Dirjen) of Water Resources Hari Suprayogi, Director General of Cipta Karya Danis H. Sumadilaga, Director General of Khalawi AH Housing Provision, Director General of Public Infrastructure Financing and Housing Eko Djoeli Heripoerwanto, Head of BPIW Hadi Sucahyono, Head of Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Lolly Martina Martief, and high-ranking officials and officials of the Ministry of PUPR.
