Bina Marga - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Highways held a press conference at the Media Center of the Ministry of PUPR Building, Thursday (21/2). Director General of Highways Sugiyartanto as the speaker at the event explained to his press and media colleagues that the Ministry of PUPR began implementing Internet of Things (IoT) technology in building infrastructure, one of which was the way.

Sugiyartanto revealed that his party has carried out road and bridge management using the internet, in this case for data management.

For national roads, for example, Indonesia currently has 47,017 kilometers of national roads. Data on national roads is then entered into a system to be managed and monitored. "Data is entered in cloud computing. The national road outside the toll road is called Big Data, "explained Sugi

For the stages, documents are created in digital form and then stored in a system called cloud service from the Data and Information Center (Pusdatin), "said Sugi

From that the road can be repaired in stages by manually monitored with a machine. The data also shows real time conditions related to traffic volume and load. Monitoring is done by placing CCTV on national roads.

"Stored in Pusdatin, sometimes we need us to check the real conditions in the field from some variations of our path, and everywhere the transparency of data," he explained.

In addition to roads, bridge management is also carried out through the system. All data is collected and then digitally managed and monitored. This data is accommodated here, what is the current condition of the bridge, follow-up to this, if there is a road and bridge treatment there is also an analysis, "said Sugi.

Some applications or systems used by Bina Marga include SHMS (Structural Health Monitoring System), Sindila (Traffic Early Information System), IRMS v.3 (Indonesia Road Management System), SiTIA (Synergy Transparency Accountable Integration), JAKI application (Jalan Kita), Inslop, INVI J, WIM Bridge, and Toll Road Licensing System. The online system was also exhibited in the Bina Marga booth located at PUPR 4.0 Expo so that visitors can get more information and also see firsthand how it works. (KompuBM)
