Medan (28/2). Interrupted by a one-day seminar on road connectivity organized by the DPD of the Indonesian Road Development Association (HPJI) throughout Sumatra, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadi Muljono inaugurated the use of the Jamin Ginting fly over (overpass)

The inauguration was marked by pressing the siren together by the Minister, Governor of North Sumatra Gatot Pujo Nugroho, Medan Mayor Dzulmi Eldin, Director General of Highways Djoko Murjanto who was also Chairman of the DPJ HPJI. Also attended by Chairman of the Committee II DPD RI Parlindungan Purba and Chairman of the DPD HPJI North Sumatra Umar Zunaidi Hasibuan. Then the Minister of PUPR signs the inscription.

Fly over Jamin Ginting which is located in the Simpang Pos area is to parse the level of traffic density in the city of Medan, especially in the AH Nasution-Ngumban Surbakti area, where so far the area is famous for traffic jams. Thus, the high economic costs of the dense traffic flow, can be reduced so as to spur economic growth acceleration in North Sumatra in general and the City of Medan in particular.

The fly over has a length of 625 meters with a width of 17.8 meters, equipped with lighting, safety fences and parks along with the traffic signs. It was built by PT Wijaya Karya and PT Pembangunan Perumahan using funds from the State Budget totaling Rp 101.48 billion, which began in July 2012 and was completed in January 2015.

When met in the field, PPK 18 (Metropolitan Medan Selatan Cs), SNVT Implementation of the Medan Metropolitan National Road, Karya Wanta Sembiri Ruas said that the Fly Over Jamin Ginting is part of the Medan outer ring. The maintenance period is 1,096 days (3 years), after which maintenance is left to the district government. Furthermore, there is a plan to deal with breaking down congestion in limgkar outside the city of Medan by building flyovers at Katamso and Pinang Baris which will both be built in South Medan (ariefbm).
