Commission V of the Republic of Indonesia House of Representatives paid a working visit to Pematang Siantar City, Medan, North Sumatra on Thursday (7/2). The Directorate General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR represented by Plh. Head of Medan National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN) II Bambang Pardede and Head of National Road Implementation Work Area Region I of North Sumatra Province, BBPJN II Medan Riwanto Marbun also visited the Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi toll road, review of the Sinaksak bridge on the Simalungun national road - Siantar, and the construction of Siantar By Pass.

Medan - Kualanamu - Tebing Tinggi toll road after section 1-6 of this toll road is fully connected, section 7 that connects Sei Rampah and Tebing Tinggi will soon be opened until Tebing Tinggi. Later, with the full operation of this toll road, it can shorten the travel time between Medan and Tebing Tinggi from 2-3 hours through the existing lane, now around 1 hour via the toll road.

This time Kunker also reviewed the Sinaksak Bridge, a bridge that is on the Simalungun - Siantar national road linking the Pematang Siantar city with Tebing Tinggi, which has a length of 24 meters,

The current condition of the bridge is in good condition where cleaning is often done so that the bridge is maintained,

"Cleaning the bridge is often done, the bridge is completely covered with a layer of asphalt, and the conditions, we saw earlier along with the steady condition" added Riwanto.

In this visit the Commission V of the House of Representatives also reviewed other infrastructure projects namely the Siantar By Pass development project, this project serves to save travel time to Medan or Siantar.

This road connects the road to Medan Pematang Siantar and the road to Parapat Siantar city with a length of 15.3 Km.

"At the moment the process is only a few km away, it can already penetrate, but the surface is all still a choice. And we need to build several more bridges so that they are well connected," said Riwanto. (KompuBM)
