Kendari (Bina Marga) - Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with Southeast Sulawesi Governor Ali Mazi, and Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono conducted a Working Visit (kunker) to Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province on Thursday (6/20) . Kunker is to check the handling of flood disasters in Southeast Sulawesi.
Also assisting the Minister of PUPR include the Director General (Dirjen) of Bina Marga Sugiyartanto, and the Head of the XXI Kendari National Road Implementation Agency (Kendari), Yohanis Tulak Todingrara.
The group visited the bridge which was damaged in the flood yesterday which resulted in the erosion of the Rahabangga Bridge so that the traffic lane was cut off between Konawe Regency and East Kolaka Regency (Trans Sulawesi Road Southeast to South Sulawesi).
The bridge will later be made twice as long as the current bridge due to the width of the river which became large due to the flood.
"We will dismantle it and we will extend the bridge twice the length, then we repair the damaged roads," said Basuki.
While Sugiyartanto said scouring at the base of the building under the bridge (abutment) caused the slope.
"One solution can be seen that from the width of the river to a wider width it is likely that the span of the bridge will be double that it is now, well, if the bridge was originally smaller than the width of the river, it was indeed a responsibility to be safer, I think later to be two "The existing spans are just the same as the upper buildings using skeletal construction," said the Director General of Highways.
The Directorate General of Highways also instructed the XXI National Road Implementation Agency (BPJN) Kendari that designs be immediately made,
"I already instructed to immediately design the initial course later, if we need to consider if necessary, we can auction first and then the contract will be finished, the completion can be faster," he continued.
Kendari Bay Bridge
The Minister of PUPR also reviewed the construction of the Kendari Bay Bridge to support the development of the Bungkutoko and Kendari New Port ports, which will be the entry points for commodities from and out of the city of Kendari and Southeast Sulawesi Province, so as to increase the volume of goods transport and trade activities.
"The bridge itself is in the shape of a cablestay, the main span is 200 meters, the total length of 1.4 Km is 200 times longer than in Ambon," said the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) for the Construction of the Kendari Bay Bridge, Armen Adekristi.
The bridge will be planned for completion in February 2020, currently the construction progress has reached 60 percent and the bridge will have a width of 20 meters, two lanes of four lanes, vertical clearance of 19 meters, there are two external constraints, namely the Nusantara port and Navy Pier (AL ).
"Therefore the archipelago port and the Navy pier must be moved, so there are two externally that must be completed before the bridge is connected, the Nusantaranya port is moved to Kendari New Port, the Navy pier is moved to the Gulf but it is not the state budget but in the provincial government," he added.
