The Directorate General of Highways enlivened the PUPR 4.0 Expo 2019 by holding a talk show and also music entertainment on Wednesday (20/02). In the first session the talkshow was filled with material about 'Implementation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the Performance of the Directorate General of Highways'. The talkshow which lasted for 90 minutes presented the Head of Data Analysis and Systems Development Subdivision (ADPS), Nazib Faizal as the guest speaker. Nazib explained that currently the management of roads and bridges of the Directorate General of Highways has been assisted by an online system making it easier for planning and handling. The goal is that all road and bridge management procedures are more efficient and can implement excellent service.

"With the online system for managing roads and bridges, DGH has more reliable data and more precise prediction models," Nazib explained.

Some applications or systems used by Bina Marga include SHMS (Structural Health Monitoring System), Sindila (Traffic Early Information System), IRMS v.3 (Indonesia Road Management System), SiTIA (Synergy Transparency Accountable Integration), JAKI application (Jalan Kita), Inslop, INVI J, WIM Bridge, and Toll Road Licensing System. The online system was also exhibited in the Bina Marga booth located at PUPR 4.0 Expo so that visitors can get more information and also see firsthand how it works.

In the second session of the talkshow with the theme 'Social Media: Publication Facilities and Making the Public Fun' Director General of Highways invited Jonathan End as a content creator who is also a digital media consultant. Jonathan said that basically everyone is a content creator, and he shares tips on how to make interesting content. He also suggested that as a government agency, DGH should not always be formal in providing information services through social media. According to him, it is also important to be able to provide information that is not rigid, so that it can be more interesting and easily accepted by the public.

"Don't be afraid to explore, not because of the government, so the impression must be formal. Actually it can be even more casual," he said.

In addition to discussing the development of digital social media, the event was also enlivened by music performances by musician Kunto Aji. PUPR 4.0 Expo was held for publication of products and innovations of KemenPUPR in the industrial era 4.0, which prioritized internet-based services, which included automation, internet of things and cloud computing.
