BBPJN V PALEMBANG HELP IMPROVES BROKEN ROADS IN OGAN KOMERING ULU DISTRICT, SUMSEL

Bina Marga - On Monday (4/3) Director of Road Preservation, Directorate General of Highways, Ir. Atyanto Busono, MT accompanied by the Head of the Palembang V National Road Center Ir. Kgs. Saiful Anwar, MT followed up on President Jokowi's instructions to the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing by reviewing and repairing damaged roads in Batumarta, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency or OKU, South Sumatra, which were viral on social media a week ago.
Considering the function of the road which is quite vital and important, the road repair will be done by patching the pavement and paving the road. The focus of improvement will be carried out throughout the Batumarta District.
"We were assigned by the Minister of PUPR at least to help make this road as functional as possible, after that we will submit it to the Regional Government. We will patch holes and pits by adding aggregate and asphalt layers at several points. The important thing is that the community is not harmed and the road is not damaged so that the Regional Government can continue to maintain the road, ”explained Atyanto.
He also explained that the main causes of the damage to the road were water that could not flow and heavy vehicles passing through the road, so that it further aggravated the damage to the road, so that drainage improvements were needed for the water flow and not puddle on the road.
"Currently we have brought materials to repair this road and heavy equipment such as graders and vibro have been on standby at the site. Today it will immediately be carried out so that the road will be functional immediately. We are targeting to complete the road repair work one month, and hopefully after the auction from the Government. The region has been completed so that the Regional Government can continue to improve it immediately, ”continued Atyanto.
He also added that although the repair of this road was the authority of the Regency, all the construction of damaged roads was under the auspices of the Directorate General of Highways, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing. (ALIN / BBPJN V)
