BINA MARGA (MAKASSAR) - The West Cross of South Sulawesi is certain to be ready for the Idul Fitri homecoming this year. This was revealed in the Lebaran route review in South Sulawesi Province, Wednesday - Thursday (8-9 / 05).

The review team consists of Plt. Kabalitbang, Lukman Hakim; Development Director of the Directorate General of Highways, Achmad Herry Marzuki; Head of Research and Development Center for Deded Sjamsudin; and the Head of BBPJNXIII, Miftachul Munir, conducted a review of the readiness of the Mudik Route in the Cross-West of Sulawesi Island.

This year the Lebaran homecoming route in South Sulawesi is divided into two corridors, namely the Makassar-Maros-Pare-pare route, Pare pare - Pinrang BTS Sulbar, Mamuju - Pairs of Wood. Then the Makasar-Pare Pare corridor, Enrekang-Toraja-Palopo- South Sulawesi-Central border towards Malili.

"In previous years the homecoming had only reached Palopo. This year there were two corridors," said Lukman Haki

Lukman received a report that BBPJN XIII had already surveyed this homecoming route to Mamuju to the borders of Central Sulawesi and West Sulawesi. "In general it is ready," he explained.

According to the Head of BBPJN XIII, Miftachul Munir, several work packages are currently underway in both corridors. For example the SBSN package in Pare-Pare - Pinrang worth Rp. 400 billion. As for the work in the form of widening and asphalting the road 6 meters into a standard 7 meters with a shoulder shoulder of 2 meters each. "When I checked yesterday it was asphalting yesterday," Munir explained.

While the Palopo - Makassar Axis line whose concrete pavement is being repaired, will be able to be skipped to maximum when going home later. The reason is that during the homecoming flow last year, contra flow was applied to pare pare, but it was very dangerous. Munir promised that in one week all lanes could be passed.

"There are still improvements to the cracks that need to be rehabilitated but for the time being we will give asphalt, don't dismantle it," Munir said.

Both corridors of the homecoming route are also the point of disaster. Some time ago Palopo-Malili province of South Sulawesi was hit by floods due to extreme weather at six points. Then in the province of West Sulawesi, two points, namely in the area of ??Kayu Kayu Palm Plantation with floods as high as 80 cm. Traffic was paralyzed for 2 days.

Tarailu area 80 kilometers from mamuju, Sampagak river flood area had cut off the road, we piled up the shoulder of the road, at 12 pm just receded and vehicles can pass.

"Until now there has been no obstruction of traffic news. It's just that we piled up the shoulder of the road which had been hit by flooding," Munir explained.

Then in the Wotu - Tarengge-Kayu Langi-Bts Sulteng segment there are 8 landslides which are quite large. 4 avalanches of cliffs that enter the road have been cleared. BBPJN XIII will design the barrier for landslides and propose funding from the remainder of the auction or post-disaster emergency response unit.

At the same time, the Director of Development, Herry Marzuki instructed to rejuvenate the markings and paint that began to fade.

Meanwhile, on the second day of the survey, the team reviewed the direction of Jeleponto, although it did not include the cross-west of Sulawesi, but it supported Makassar. After the flood in January, several road spots experienced cracks.

"We hope to use the remaining funds from the auction to rehabilitate this year. At a glance the traffic will not be congested," Munir explained.

He hoped that the days leading up to the homecoming peak would stop all road works so as not to disrupt road capacity.

In addition, BBPJN XIII has prepared a homecoming post and assigns stand-by street inspectors and heavy equipment standby. (Ian)
