Sumedang (Bina Marga) - Commission V of the Indonesian House of Representatives together with the National Road Implementation Agency (BBPJN) VI conducted a review of the former landslide location (27/09) at 6 points on the Jatinangor Road Section - Bts. Kota Sumedang Km.Bdg. 36 + 300; Km.Bdg. 36 + 350; Km.Bdg. 36 + 750; Km.Bdg. 37 + 700; Km.Bdg. 37 + 780; Km.Bdg. 38 + 400. Location of the cliff / lane from Bandung towards Sumedang the occurrence of landslides is also known as Cadas Pangeran.
At the same time landslides also occurred at 3 points of the Sumedang - Kadipaten section at Km.Bdg 39 + 570, Km. Bdg 39 + 925, and Km.Bdg. 40 + 300. In a different section, namely, Bandung-Tasikmalaya there was a landslide around the Lingkong Gentong road but only covered the railroad tracks.
"So along Jatinangor-Sumedang there are 9 landslide points so the road is closed. Fortunately in the Rancakalong Citali area there are still alternative roads for small vehicles. While for large vehicles diverted (back) to the Cipali Toll Road, "said Bambang Hartadi, Head of BBPJN VI.
High rainfall caused landslides, rocks, and trees to fall from the cliff so that it covered the road body (channels, shoulders and road). As a result of this incident the traffic from Jatinangor-Sumedang was completely closed and could not be crossed by vehicles. There were no fatalities either from the surrounding residents or the road user community but there were damage to several houses under the cliff.
"So you can imagine that the avalanche closed the Bandung-Sumedang route, and it had jammed for miles. "It happened at night, the morning was opened," he told Commission V of the DPR.
Bambang said after the landslide incident on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at 21.15 West Indonesia Time, his office directly coordinated with the Sumedang Police, Sumedang District Public Works Agency, Basarnas and Perhutani by cleaning up the soil, rocks and fallen trees and protecting the traffic. . According to reports, on Wednesday (9/21) morning, landslide material had been cleared and traffic was reopened.
Seeing high rainfall it is still possible to cause landslides again. Like the avalanche occurred on September 24, KM 36 + 700, Cadas Pangeran. Even when the review was conducted, Bambang received another report of landslides at the same location, namely KM. Bdg 36 + 700.
"Earlier, I told the Chairperson of the Commission, if we were determined to go to the location, it could reach midnight because the roads would be jammed," he said.
House of Representatives Commission V member Yudi Widiana Adia said that he had indeed scheduled to see the location of the landslide in Cadas Pangeran, which of course was strongly related to information from BMKG. "We got information that rain will occur two months ago," said the PKS Party politician. According to him, the Cadas Pangeran area is already quite a legend, an old region and therefore one of the solutions is the construction of the Cileunyi Sumedang Dawuan Toll (Cisumdawu).
In addition to Yudi, members of the House of Representatives Commission V who took part in the review were Hanna Gayatri from the PAN faction, Djoni Rolindrawan from the Hanura faction, and Soehartono from the Nasdem Faction. "While several other members chose to stay at the Garut flood disaster site because there were tasks from their respective parties," Yudi said.
Furthermore, despite being triggered by high rainfall, Bambang found another reason for the landslide in Cadas Pangeran, namely the conversion of forest land into agriculture in the hills above the road section. From the aerial photo, it is clear that the cliff area that was once overgrown with trees has turned into terrace plantations.
Seeing the geotechnical conditions that are cliffing and winding, the Commitment Maker of Bandung - Cileunyi - Jatinangor (PK BCJ) as the person in charge of the Cadas Pangeran section is planning several short-term and permanent handling solutions at landslide points. The temporary treatment is the installation of cerucuk. While permanently in the form of cliff pavement with soil nailing, installation of wiremesh, followed by shootcreet, installation of borepiles and barrier fences, and re-vegetation. Handling steps taken will be adjusted to the conditions at each point landslide. (ian)
