The Research and Development Agency of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing held a 'Introduction to Research in the Field of Water Resources and Roads and Bridges' for Prospective Civil Servants (CPNS) 2017 Formation Batch II in Bandung on Monday (04/06). In accordance with the direction of the Minister of PUPR, this event was held to provide adequate provisions for CPNS to be more familiar with the PUPR environment so that they can jump right in and be able to adjust to the needs of PUPR.
The event was attended by 234 CPNS consisting of 156 CPNS Water Resources Engineering and 78 CPNS Road and Bridge Engineering. Also present at the opening ceremony were the Secretary of the R&D Agency of the Ministry of PUPR, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Water Resources, the Head of the BPSDM Regional Training Center Region IV, and the Head of Personnel and Ortala Section of the Directorate General of Highways.
In his remarks delivered in the form of video, Acting Director General of Highways, Arie Setiadi Moerwanto emphasized 3 things to be owned by CPNS, namely competence, consistency, and networking. According to Arie, competence is in the sense of being brave and having the spirit of art. Dare to decide, dare to design and must have the knowledge to make it all.
"We can be artistic if we have innovation. Puslitabang water has the human resources and facilities to innovate. Then make use of it. Study the technology, and do innovation. Maybe 42 days is not enough, but you will know who can discuss and where to consult," Arie said to the CPNS.
The second point is consistency. Arie emphasized that consistency is basically more dominated by character. "Strong character is the basis for all of us to have high consistency. The main basis is religion."
The last point is networking. The Director General of Highways said that in working and solving problems, it was very rarely done alone. "We have to work in a team. So we have to form networks in a scheme of mutual trust and respect," he said.
Arie also appealed for this training opportunity to be used to create a network of work because the success of one's job and career will be determined by how well he can foster and form a working network that is effective, friendly, and mutually building.
After the opening, the event continued with tauziah Ramadhan and opened together. (KompuBM)
