Meanwhile, the second main span delivery has been done on Sunday 12/18/2017 and is targeted to arrive on Sunday, 7/01/2018. "Deliveries are made with a distance of 3,200 Km. We also ask for your blessing to arrive safely, "said Director General of Highways Arie Setiadi Moerwanto, Thursday (12/21/2017).
The Holtekamp Bridge was built by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Highways which will connect Hamadi, District in South Jayapura with Holtekamp, Muara Tami District, Jayapura City. The construction is part of the effort to realize President Joko Widodo's Nawa Cita and Vice President Jusuf Kalla to build from the periphery.
Assembly of Holtekamp Bridge which is a type of Curved Steel Box is not done at the bridge location, but at PT PAL Indonesia Surabaya. The production of bridges in Surabaya aims to improve work safety aspects, improve welding quality, and speed up implementation time up to 3 months.
The length of the main span is 400 meters plus a 332 meter approaching bridge consisting of 33 meters approaching from Hamadi direction and 299 meters from Holtekamp direction so that the total bridge length is 732 meters. The width of the bridge is 21 meters consisting of 4 2-way lanes equipped with road medians.
The existence of the Holtekamp Bridge has a strategic value, namely to overcome the density of urban areas, settlements and economic activities within the city of Jayapura. The reason is, this bridge cuts the distance to 17 kilometers between the two locations. This affects the travel time of road users from Jayapura City to Muara Tami, which is going to the Skouw Cross-border Post (PLBN), which previously took 2.5 hours to 60 minutes.
The construction of the Holtekamp Bridge was carried out jointly by the Ministry of PUPR, the Provincial Government of Papua, and the Jayapura City Government. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Works funded the construction of the main bridge, the Papua Provincial Government funded the construction of the Holtekamp Direction Approach Bridge, and the Jayapura City Government funded the construction of a road approach and land acquisition.
Costs incurred to build a bridge over Youtefa Bay reached Rp 1.7 trillion. This project was carried out by a consortium of contractors PT Pembangunan Perumahan, PT Hutama Karya and PT Nindya Karya.
Holtekamp Bridge construction is targeted to be completed in September 2018 or sooner than originally planned in 2019. (Public Communication Bureau - Ministry of Public Works and Housing)
