Jayapura - The holtekamp bridge as one of the longest bridges in eastern Indonesia and the Papua landmark continues to accelerate its work. Where the middle span of the bridge has been completed and is currently working on the approaching bridge and the access road to the bridge.

On Friday, November 9, Holtekamp Bridge was tested for the proper functioning of the bridge by loading test. The Public Communication Team of the Directorate General of Highways interviewed Holtekamp bridge commitment official Irfan Hidayat regarding the loading and progress testing process of the holtekamp bridge itself.

During the interview, Irfan explained that on every special bridge that has curves exceeding 50 meters, there is a name called a feasible test, one of which is the loading test. The load test on the holtekamp bridge uses 60% of the bridge's strength. The loading test uses 160 trucks with a load of 10 tons each. Where the proper test results will be given to the Bridge and Road Tunnel Security Commission which will later be proposed to the Minister to issue a bridge proper test.

This holtekamp bridge is also equipped with a gandola at the bottom of the bridge. Where this gandola serves to monitor the state of the bottom of the bridge, said irfan. One of them is to determine the state of the bolts under the bridge. This is the same as the bottom of the Suramadu bridge, but the gandola on the Holtekamp bridge is permanently installed. Later the inspection car will also be installed at the top of the bridge.

For work on the middle span of the bridge, the completion of the approaching bridge section has been completed, where the work package is partly done by the provincial government using APBD funds. Whereas the access road in the holtekamp section is carried out by the provincial government and the hamadi approach road is carried out by the city government.

The holtekamp bridge itself is targeted to be completed by the end of December 2018 but after the revised results and that the inauguration as well as the entire bridge is expected to be functional at the beginning of March 2019. This is due at the time of the inauguration as a whole the bridge has been completed including the art lighting section on the bridge. (KompuBM)
