The Directorate General of Highways has the task of carrying out the formulation and implementation of policies in the field of road administration in accordance with statutory provisions.
In carrying out the tasks referred to in Article 291, the Directorate General of Highways organizes functions:
- formulation of policies in the field of road administration in accordance with statutory provisions;
- implementing policies in the field of national road administration;
- implementing policies in the field of strengthening connectivity which are a national priority;
- drafting norms, standards, procedures and criteria in the field of road administration;
- providing technical guidance and supervision in the field of road administration;
- conducting evaluation and reporting in the field of road administration;
- the administration of the Directorate General of Highways; and
- other functions performed by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing.
