As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

  1. The Jurnal Jalan Jembatan Editorial Board accepts scholarly manuscripts in the field of roads and bridges from both within and outside the Directorate of Road and Bridge Technical Development. Submissions must be made through the journal’s online system at https://binamarga.pu.go.id/jurnal/. The review team will evaluate all submissions and reserves the right to reject manuscripts that fail to meet requirements.

  2. Manuscripts must present original research or studies that have not been—and will not be—published in other print media.

  3. Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English and submitted as electronic files (Microsoft Word format) along with two printed copies.

  4. Manuscript Structure:

    • Preliminary Section: Title, author names, abstract (in both Indonesian and English for Indonesian manuscripts; English-only for English manuscripts), and keywords (italicized).

    • Main Body: Introduction, hypothesis (if applicable), methodology, results and analysis, discussion, conclusions and recommendations, and acknowledgments.

    • Final Section: Symbol definitions (if needed), references (minimum 10, with ≥80% from primary sources published in the last 5 years), and appendices (optional).

  5. Title: Must reflect the research’s method, findings, or novelty. Titles must match the manuscript’s language (Indonesian or English; English titles italicized).

  6. Author Names:

    • Listed below the title without academic titles, aligned left, and without the word "by." Multiple authors should be listed in one line.

    • Include full institutional affiliations and cities for all authors.

  7. Abstract: 150–250 words, concise and informative. Must cover:

    • Research background, core issues, scientific gap, literature review, and methodology.

    • Key findings and their practical/theoretical contributions.

    • Avoid abbreviations; include ≥5 keywords (bilingual for Indonesian manuscripts).

  8. Formatting Rules:

    • Paper size: A4, single-spaced, two-column layout (0.5 cm gap between columns).

    • Margins: Top/bottom 3 cmleft/right 2.5 cm.

    • Paragraphs: 1 cm indentation, no extra spacing between paragraphs.

    • Font: Palatino Linotype throughout:

      • Title: 10 pt, bold, left-aligned.

      • Authors: 9 pt, bold.

      • Affiliation/email: 8 pt (institution), 7 pt (email).

      • Subheadings: 10 pt, bold.

      • Body text: 10 pt, single-spaced.

      • Equations/tables/figures: 9 pt (captions: 8 pt for sources).

      • Page numbers: Arabic numerals, 9 pt.

  9. Language Style:

    • Foreign terms in italics; Indonesian equivalents should be prioritized after first use.

    • Use numerals except at sentence beginnings.

  10. Tables/Figures:

    • Titles: Above for tables, below for figures.

    • Style: Borderless tables ("Table Simple 1"), color figures/graphs.

    • Sources: Mandatory below each item.

  11. In-Text Citations: (Author Year) format, e.g., (Calvez 2004). For direct quotes: (Calvez 2004, 73).

  12. References: Chicago Manual of Style (Author-Date). Examples:

    • Book:
      Okuda, Michael, and Denis Okuda. 1993. Star Trek Chronology: The History of the Future. New York: Pocket Books.

    • Journal Article:

  13. The Editorial Board is not responsible for manuscript content.

  14. Authors must provide a clear correspondence address.

  15. The Editorial Board may adjust language/terminology without altering content and may consult authors if necessary.

  16. Published manuscripts become the property of the Directorate of Road and Bridge Technical Development, Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
