Anonymus Peer Review
ENSURING ANONYMOUS PEER REVIEW
To ensure the integrity of anonymous peer review for submissions to the journal, every effort must be made to prevent the identities of the authors and reviewers from being known to each other. This involves authors, editors, and reviewers (who upload documents as part of their review) checking that the following steps have been taken regarding the text and file properties:
- The authors of the document have removed their names from the text, using "Author" and the year in references and footnotes instead of the authors' names.
- For Microsoft Office documents, the authors' identification must also be removed from the file properties (see below for File in Word), by clicking the following, starting with File in the main menu of the Microsoft application: File > Save As > Tools (or Options on a Mac) > Security > Remove personal information from file properties on save > Save.
- For PDFs, the authors' names should also be removed from the document properties found under File in the main menu of Adobe Acrobat.
