Optimal Shock Abshorption Layout of Lead Rubber Bearing in a Multy-story Underground Structure

The damping effect of lead rubber bearing (LRB) on the seismic response of simple subway station structures has been verified. Because the structure style of the multi-story subway station structure is more complex, the damping effect of LRB on the seismic response of the multi-story subway station structure and the optimal layout strategy need to be further studied. In this paper, a four-story three-span subway station structure is taken as the research object. Based on the finite element code ABAQUS, a series of time history analyses of the structure with various layout conditions of LRB are carried out, and the influence of different layout story on the damping effect of the multi-story subway station structure is studied. It is found that the damping effect of the central column equipped with LRB is obvious. The column shear force is reduced by 50%–80%, and the sidewall with high design security is only increased by 10–15% by contrast. With the increase of the number of LRB layout stories, story drifts increase obviously but still within the allowable range.
