Explorative Application of Peck Formula and Its Modified Versions in Surface Subsidence Prediction Caused by Quasi-Rectangular Tunnel Construction



Surface subsidence is one of the key control indexes of tunnel construction. Peck formula is generally adopted to estimate the settlement of the soft ground induced by shallow tunneling work, which is suggested by Professor Peck in 1969. Verification work is necessary to be done before the formula is applied in engineering. At present, the application experience of Peck formula in Quasi-rectangular tunnel construction is relatively lack, resulting in the limited application in engineering.
