Urban storm drainage research has been conducted on the clifton grove estate Catchment, Nottingham, since 1976 and in that time aspects of both the quality and quantity of strom water runoff have been investigated (Fletcher et al, 1978, Fletcher & Pratt, 1981, Pratt & Henderson, 1981). The catchment has a total area of 10.6 ha which 42% are impervious highway and roof surface, draining to a separately-sewered storm drainage system.
