The Effects of Urban Development and Storm-Sewer drainage on Ground-Water Quality and Ground-Water Recharge

The studies described here have been carried out over the past 5 years in a partially impervious suburban watershed area on the southeastern edge of Munic, west Germany. This area, like most of the plain surrounding Munich, has no natural surface drainage with all excess water not collected in sewars seeping directly into the underlying gravel.
