<note>Road safety is one of the major transportation challenges in Indonesia due to the increasing number of vehicles and public mobility. The high rate of traffic accidents indicates the need for integrated efforts to improve the safety and comfort of road users. This study aims to analyze the factors causing traffic accidents and strategies for improving road safety in Indonesia. The methods used include literature review and transportation policy analysis related to infrastructure, road user behavior, law enforcement, and transportation technology. The findings show that improving road infrastructure quality, traffic safety education, implementation of safety technology, and consistent law enforcement can significantly reduce accident risks. Therefore, collaboration among the government, society, and private sector is essential to create a safer and more sustainable transportation system in Indonesia.
