 <note>The risk assessment process and method of subsea tunnel which from the point of risk identification, risk probability, consequences of loss grade, single risk and overall risk in the operation period was researched in this paper. We performed comparative study to the alignment selection and construction method of the subsea tunnel in the view of technical risk. We perform risk assessment and comparison analysis to the operational risk assessment and risk of each alignment plan with the method of investigation and expert scoring method and analytic hierarchy process, and combined with the risk assessment standards and methods at home and abroad from the eight points of fire, explosion, long distance ventilation system reliability, reliability of fire protection facilities, reliability and durability of tunnel under high water pressure, structural stability and durability, earthquake and flooding. Finally we concluded the minimum value of the alignment plan and construction methods and put forward the corresponding suggestions for the risk of the operation period of the project.&#13;
