<note>
Internal explosions in underground spaces can lead to enormous economic losses and cause security hazards to society. Therefore, understanding the dynamic response of embedded tunnels to explosions is extremely important. Using the theory of elastic media, we studied the three-dimensional transient dynamic responses of coupled soil-lined systems under blast loads. First, general solutions for the dynamic responses of infinite elastic soils and linings in the Laplace and Fourier domains are derived. Second, analytical solutions for the displacement and stress of elastic soils and linings under axially-symmetric explosion loads in the Laplace and the Fourier domains are deduced by exploiting the continuity of the contact area between the lining and elastic soil. An interior boundary condition for linings is also derived. Finally, three-dimensional dynamic responses in the time-space domain are calculated using Fourier transforms and the Durbin approach to Laplace inverse transforms. The soil displacement and stress distributions caused by the blast load, as well as the influence of different parameters are analyzed. Additionally, optimal ranges are provided for the lining thickness and the ratio between the shear modulus of linings and the modulus of soil.
