<note>Dislocation between adjacent rings and opening of conferential joints are two typical distress of shield tunnel due to longitudinal uneven settlement. However, most existing analysis methods only considered one distress. In this study, a longitudinal deformation model of shield tunnel is proposed based on the longitudinal deformation mechanism, which takes both bending deformation and shear deformation of the lining structure into consideration. With a three-dimensional numerical simulation, the longitudinal deformation of shield tunnel under typical settlement load, the influences of longitudinal axial force and ground spring stiffness are investigated. The results show that the longitudinal deformation of shield tunnel is significantly influenced by axial force and load transmission mechanism between rings. Generally, the longitudinal deformation is dominated by shear deformation when axial force is small. As the axial force increases, bending deformation takes larger and larger weights gradually.
