Effects of Soil Cross-Anisotropy on the Wave-Induced Residual Liquefaction Around an Immerced Tunnel in the Liquefiable Seabed
Immersed tunnel is already a major underwater construction and the stability analysis of immersed tunnel is of great significance in marine engineering. Most previous investigations of the immersed tunnel are about seismic response and did not consider soil anisotropy. In this paper, we developed a 2D model to discuss the effects of soil cross-anisotropy on the residual liquefaction around an immersed tunnel in the liquefiable seabed. The effect of gravitational force including the body of the tunnel is pre-estimated. We use Biot’s consolidation theory on the soil-wave interaction and consider the seabed a porous medium. The tunnel is considered as a single phase and behaves under the linear elastic law. We validate the numerical model by comparing with the experimental data. Parametric studies reveal that soil cross-anisotropy affects the pore pressure around immersed tunnel a lot and should not be negligible.
