 <note>This paper reviews the general experience with insulated roads with gravel base layers in Norway, and also deals with three projects with cementitious base layers that were investigated with respect to material quality, bearing capacity measurements and general performance of the road. A falling weight deflectometer was used for the bearing capacity measurements. This paper also considers the structural quality based on calculations with analytical tools (CHEVRON), with respect to the necessary strength of insulation boards.</note>
