  <title>Proceeding Geotechnical Aspects of Underground Construction in Soft Ground</title>
 </relatedItem>
 <note>The aim of this paper is to anlyse the causes of ground movements induced by earth pressure balance (EPB) machine driven tunnels. An attempt to link the observed ground movements to the key driving parameters of the EPB machine, such as face pressure as well as shield and tail void grouting pressure, is presented. It was found that volume losses were successfully controlled below 1% target with face pressures comprised between 20 and 50% of the overburden pressure.&#13;
