Influences of Physical Grout Flow Around Bored Tunnels

The behaviour of the layer during the construction of bored tunnels is one of the detemining factors for the stablity and deformations of the tunnel structure and the surrounding soil. A new calculation model is presented which incorporates the relevant properties of and the interactions between soil, grout and lining. With this model the influence of different grout strategies on structural safety of the tunnel, suface settlements and plastic deformations in the soil can be analysed. The model was applied successfully to the Green Heart Tnnel in the Netherlands.
