Bayesian Updating of Tunnel Performance for K Estimate of Santiago Gravel
Bayesian back analysis associated to Negro (1988) model for tunnel performance prediction was used for back analysis of K from field instrumentation data collected in the construction of a twin track tunnel ofLine 5 of Santiago Metro chile. The ground is a thick deposit of fluial-glacial, well graded and denses gravel, with boulders up to 30cm, defficult to sample and test. Obtained values of K were much higher than what was assumed in the design, suggensting and overconsolidation condition of these deposits, othwerwise not recognized.
