This General Reoirt reviews a total of twenty fivepapers relating to bored tunnel construction, its influence ongrounddeformatuins and tunnel interaction with other geo-structures in the 5th International Symposium on Geotechnical Aspects of Underground Constructuin in Soft Ground. These papers may be broadly grouped under five sub0themes or headngs: (a) case history and back-analysis, (b) study of interaction effects, (c)investigation of face stability, (d) assessment, measurement and analysis of ground deformations and, (e) influace of grout and muck properties on the contruction of bored tunnels. This report is intended to highlight mainfeatures, key findings, and perhaps to raise queries and concerns of reviewed papers as appropriate.
