This paper describes the measures taken during the design to provide a durable structure with all necessary facilities for operation. Stainless steel was used in the towers, both in fabrications and in reinforcement. A comprehensive set of facilities for inspection and maintenance of the structure was included in the design and the bridge is fully instrumented with a real time wind as structural health monitoring system (WASHMS)
