The TRRL has equipped a car with an experimental automatic steering system to study the feasibility of automatic vehicle control. Speed of up to 130 km/h have been obtained on dry surfaces and 100 km/h on snow covered surfaces without loss of control. Details of the servo and sensing systems used are given with an account of the necessary mechanical and electrical modofications made to the vehicle
